HHCOS Choir

HHCOS

HHCOS is run entirely by volunteers. New members are always welcome and there are no auditions to join.

Each year we produce a choral concert or opera (where funds allow) in March, a choral concert in October as part of the Haddo Arts Festival and several carol services and concerts in December in Haddo House Chapel.  One of the great pleasures of singing with HHCOS is the opportunity to perform alongside a professional orchestra and professional soloists.

Rehearsals take place every Thursday evening at Haddo Peatyards from 7.30 – 9.30pm.

Membership Fees: Full membership – from £80 / Concession – £65 / Student – £30

HHCOS Voices

HHCOS VOICES CHOIR

The Voices choirs perform two concerts annually, a Christmas Concert and a Summer Concert, to showcase their work. Concerts are held in Haddo House Hall, which is a wonderful opportunity to perform on a stage. Members are encouraged to perform solos and duets at these concerts, although there is no pressure for those who do not wish to.  Members are expected to attend every week, especially in the run up to a concert.

Voices are non-auditioned choirs – we believe that everyone can sing, given the right nurturing environment. The only stipulation is you should be able to attend all rehearsals, where possible.  New members are very welcome and needed – so please feel free to come along; you can come for two rehearsals free of charge before making any commitment to join. Feel free to bring a friend!

Rehearsals take place on Wednesday evenings in St Mary on the Rock Church, Ellon from 6.00 to 6.45pm for those in P1 – P5.   Music ranges from silly warm ups to jazzy to traditional to easy classical. A fun introduction to singing with plenty of tips on developing young ears and voices and always with plenty of laughs along the way.

For the older age group (P6 – S6) rehearsals also take place on Wednesday evenings in St Mary on the Rock Church, Ellon but from 7.00 – 8.00 pm. Music is specially tailored to suit teenagers ranging from folk to jazz to musical numbers and pop, as well as more traditional classical pieces.

Voices membership is £20 per term. Siblings receive a discount and are only charged £15 per term. Members are also required to purchase Voices hoodies for concert performances which will be charged at cost – currently £16.50 with a free T-shirt on joining (replacement t-shirts will also be charged at cost).
